For years, many came to know the actor through his roles on shows like General Hospital and The Young and the Restless. The news was shared by Rogers’ publicist, with the statement placing a lot of focus on the actor’s family.
Tristan Rogers First Joined General Hospital In 1980
Rogers is an Australian actor who was born in Melbourne. He started his career with various Australian soaps.
In the United States, Rogers first joined General Hospital in 1980, appearing as Robert Scorpio. The character was originally killed off in 1992, but Rogers would continue to appear on the soap over the years, originally as a spirit, with the character’s death eventually being dropped.

In 2010, Rogers later joined the cast of The Young and the Restless as Colin Atkinson. Animation fans may also remember him as the voice of Jake in Disney’s The Rescuers Down Under.
According to Soap Opera Digest, publicist Anthony Turk has shared a devastating health update concerning the soap opera star. Rogers has reportedly been diagnosed with cancer.
A press release read, “Beloved Emmy-winning actor Tristan Rogers, best known for his role as Robert Scorpio on the daytime drama, General Hospital, is sharing with fans that he has been diagnosed with cancer. While he remains hopeful and is working closely with his medical team on a treatment plan, this is a challenging time for Tristan and his family.”
“As they face both the emotional and physical burdens that come with this diagnosis, the family kindly asks for privacy and understanding. They are deeply grateful for the outpouring of support and love from their friends and family.”
The Release Told Fans Updates Would Be Sent As Rogers & His Family Finds Appropriate
“Tristan sends his love to his fans and wants them to know how much he appreciates their loyalty and encouragement over the years. This support means more to him now than ever. Future updates will be shared if deemed appropriate by Tristan and his family.”
As the publication noted, fans last saw Scorpio on General Hospital on November 12 of last year. At the time, the character was seen leaving town with his ex-wife, Holly Sutton.
Back in 2018, Rogers also spoke with the publication about his return to the soap. He shared, “I’m working with a lot of different people … And I think the fans are going to like it.”
Rogers has made a reputation for keeping his fans in his thoughts. He is particularly known for making Zoom appearances through Coastal Entertainment.
