Least Likable Welcome To Plathville Cast, Ranked (Whose Drama Has Hurt Them The Most?)
The Welcome to Plathville cast has engaged viewers for six seasons, but some of the Plath family members and those associated have better reputations and are more likable than others. Welcome to Plathville season 6 finished airing in early October 2024, and was arguably the most interesting season yet. Moriah Plath was fresh off of the second heartbreak viewers have seen her go through since the show premiered in 2019. Micah Plath ditched his playboy ways and settled down in Florida with his controversial girlfriend, Veronica Peters.
Kim and Barry Plath, the parents of the 10 (one deceased) Plath children (Hosanna, Ethan, Moriah, Micah, Lydia, Isaac, Amber, Cassia, and Mercy) announced their divorce after 24 years of marriage in 2022, which was Welcome to Plathville‘s fourth season. Since then, the pair have been co-parenting the younger children in separate households. Kim moved onto a small houseboat in Florida with her younger daughters, and Barry lives in their Cairo, Georgia, house. Kim and Barry have yet to officially divorce, citing that they are still working out the financial details of their split.
Eldest Plath son Ethan split from Olivia Plath in season 5, and the finalizing of their divorce was the subject of the first half of season 6. The pair had married in 2018, and the early happy days of their marriage were focused on in the first few seasons. However, one of the major storylines that developed was Olivia’s disdain for Kim and Barry and how that created a divide not only between her and the Plath family but also between her and Ethan. Olivia had her own storyline separate from the Plath’s in the latter half of season 6, and she even dove into a new relationship with a man named Brendan.
The four minor Plath children, Isaac, Amber, Cassia, and Mercy were a larger part of season 6, although they are still not a main focus on the show, likely due to their ages. Welcome to Plathville has come a long way from where it started in terms of what the show features. Kim and Barry, who were ultra-conservative fundamentalists who sheltered their kids from outside influences, have changed a lot and loosened their reigns enormously as they have been on their own self-discovery paths. With all the drama in the lives of the Plath family and those close to them on the show, some have stood out more than others as more likable.
9 Micah Plath
Micah Is Introspective
Micah has gotten a lot of screen time over the years as he was coming over age before viewers’ eyes and finding himself in the world. Micah set his sights on a modeling career and blossomed after moving to Los Angeles to pursue his dreams. Micah dated, had success modeling, and enjoyed the Cali lifestyle. He was once good friends with Olivia, but ultimately chose to stand behind his parents and family in condemning Olivia for having a problem with them. While Micah may have expressed malice toward Olivia, he was introspective with his thoughts, and Micah tends to make sense when he explains himself in general.
In season 6, Welcome to Plathville viewers got to see a different side of Micah, as he introduced his over a year long relationship with Veronica. Boyfriend/partner Micah was different, more toned down, than fans had seen before. Micah weighed a lot of heavy life decisions about his future in season 6, and he maintained his charming perception, making him the most likable cast member.
8 Barry Plath
Barry Has Changed For The Better
TLC personality and Plath patriarch Barry has become a lot more amiable in recent seasons. He has been navigating his hurt from the divorce with Kim, getting to the root of who he is, and supporting his children in every way he can. In the early seasons, Barry was portrayed more negatively as a close-minded individual who was more authoritative, but now his soft side is what’s been being shown. Barry also had a graceful moment when he officially spent time with Kim’s boyfriend Ken at a family gathering, and kept his composure and maturity. Barry was praised by his kids a lot in recent seasons for growing as a person and always putting his best foot forward.
7 Moriah Plath
Moriah’s Heartbreak Made Her Relatable

Moriah has not always been the most well-liked Welcome to Plathville cast member for her poor decision-making, clout-chasing tendencies, and questionable makeup and outfit choices, but she has come a long way. Moriah pours her pain into her music, and is always striving to fulfill her dreams while endeavoring to be honest. Olivia and Moriah were once extremely close, but Moriah chose to band with her family against Olivia. In doing so, she accused Olivia of being a liar over Olivia accusing Kim of stealing money from Ethan’s credit cards, and of being a thief after she accused Olivia of stealing her music.
In season 6, Moriah asked Olivia for a sit-down where she apologized for her actions. While the apology didn’t land well with Olivia, who thought Moriah was apologizing to quell herself, not apologizing to be sincere, it was still a big moment for Moriah. Moreover, in season 6, Moriah showed her relatable side and made fans feel bad for her when she fell prey to her problematic ex-boyfriend’s desire to get back with her after he had treated her poorly and broke her heart.
6 Ken Palmer
Ken Is A Likable Addition To The Show
Ken joined Welcome to Plathville season 5 after Kim introduced him as her boyfriend. Ken was originally Isaac’s pilot partner. On camera, Ken has shown his love for Kim and his desire to be a good stepdad to the Plath children. Ken has come across as a no-drama kind of guy and tries to make everyone laugh when he is in a room. On social media, Ken has demonstrated that he is still a big part of the Plath kids’ lives and that he has good intentions for them and Kim. He also handled himself well when he spent time with Barry one on one during the family gathering.
5 Lydia Plath
Lydia Flies Under The Radar
Lydia is the middle child in the Plath family and is the most religiously devout Plath family member. Between Lydia’s prayer closet, religious event attendance, and innocent nature, she has largely been seen as wholesome. Lydia mostly flies under the radar but has had a few situations, like when she wanted to be friends with Moriah’s first ex after they broke up, that have soured fans’ opinions of her, but she largely does not have a bad rap.
4 Ethan Plath
Ethan Has Learned A Lot
Ethan has been villainized over the years for being rigid, set in his ways, not being a good communicator, and being flaky. Ethan upholds traditional values, but has also been known as the jokester in the family. Being with Olivia did not bring out Ethan’s best side, but in the second half of season 6, when Ethan was single, mourning his marriage, and trying to get back out there, it became clear that he learned a lot about himself and got more fans rooting for him.
3 Veronica Peters
Veronica Showed She Is A Mean Girl
Micah’s girlfriend Veronica did not win many supporters in TLC‘s Welcome to Plathville season 6.
She originally did not want to appear on camera, and when she did a few episodes later, she showcased her immaturity, awkwardness, and materialism.
On top of those traits that were perceived negatively, Veronica has been labeled a clout chaser and a mean girl.
Veronica called out Olivia as a “narcissist” after Barry cryptically said that he and Veronica bonded over their shared dislike of someone. Veronica blurted out in an interview that they were talking about Olivia. Veronica called Olivia a narcissist for not saying hi to her well enough during a wedding over the previous summer. Veronica has made a bad impression on Welcome to Plathvillle viewers, and she now has a bad reputation because of it.
Olivia Is Cringy
TLC ‘s Olivia has been ostracized by the Plath family, which can make her a sympathetic character. However, she doesn’t help herself out.
Olivia leaves no room for anyone’s opinions on her feelings, and in doing so, she drove away not only the Plath family but also her husband. Olivia was also remarkably cringy in Welcome to Plathville season 6. She hosted a sex education party with Micah’s former friends in attendance, which was uncomfortable. After that, she introduced her new boyfriend, Brendan, to the world. The pair have matching turtle tattoos and were extremely hard to watch as they professed their love for each other and displayed their immaturity.
Olivia is very headstrong and in tune with her emotions, but she fails to be relatable and kind, and she comes off as close-minded herself, even though that was her biggest complaint about Ethan. Olivia seems to think she is the center of attention and that those around her need to fall in line with her beliefs, which makes her unlikable. Her baggage in the show has carried into her separate storyline in season 6, which is not a good sign for her reception.
1 Kim Plath
Kim Is The Ultimate Welcome To Plathville Villain
Kim Plath is the most disliked member of Welcome to Plathville. Her children have called her out as a bad homeschool educator, an unaffectionate mother, and someone who makes questionable decisions. Moreover, in between seasons 4 and 5, Kim was arrested for a DUI, to which she pleaded guilty. Kim was also responsible for the death of her son, Joshua Plath. She accidentally ran him over with the family car in 2008.
Kim also blatantly moved on quickly from Barry, and rubs her happiness in his face. She has been pegged by Welcome to Plathville fans and her children as manipulative, and she has demonstrated that she is hypocritical. Kim lacks humility and often comes off as arrogant and unaccountable. She has proven that she is, and will likely continue to be, the most disliked Welcome to Plathville cast member for her dramatic history both in her personal life and on the show.
