Welcome to Plathville Season 4 has focused on Barry and Kim Plath’s relationship. Their marriage is falling apart and they are going their separate ways. Now, Kim has more details to share with her daughter, Lydia.
Kim Plath opens up about intimacy in her relationship.
In a preview for the newest episode of Welcome to Plathville, Kim and Lydia sit down for a chat. Kim calls it “the most difficult sit-down conversation” between herself and Lydia.
As Kim talks about her relationship with Barry and how it’s falling apart, Lydia says it just needs the “touch of the Holy Spirit” to heal it.
In a confessional, Kim explains, “Human love is a lot more complicated.”
Then, Kim tells her daughter that there’s “no intimacy” in her marriage. She explains, “It’s just lonely. It’s lonely. And I’ve told him that, like, a lot, and he doesn’t get it. And so, I’m just, I wanna be with somebody that values me for me. Because I’m tired of being neglected.”
Kim believes that she’s worth loving. She says she wants to be with someone who will “connect” with her and “care about me.”

In the comments section of TLC’s preview of Welcome to Plathville, fans are claiming that Kim Plath went too far when talking to Lydia.
One fan says, “Having this conversation with your child, about her father, is wildly inappropriate. There seems to be a real lack of boundaries here, and it’s very unhealthy. A child, grown or minor, should not be part of an intimate conversation such as this regarding their own parents.”
Others are shocked to see Kim having this conversation with her children. They think that she shouldn’t speak so negatively about her husband to her kids, too.
