It might shock you to see that Kim was driving under the influence. On Welcome to Plathville, she talked about how much she disliked alcohol and how she was raised by her mother, who was an alcoholic. She discouraged her kids from consuming alcohol. However, it looks like Kim later changed her mind on the topic and went out drinking with one of her sons, Micah Plath.
Sadly, alcohol appears to be a problem for her these days.

On Thursday morning, Kim Plath was booked into the Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office, which is located in Florida. Her charges were vague. But they included DUI, property damage, and personal damage.

Later on Thursday, TMZ shared additional details about why Kim Plath was in jail. She ended up behind bars after a DUI and car crash several months ago in Florida. Back in June, the police discovered Kim’s car overturned in a ditch. The authorities noted that she smelled of alcohol. She had some injuries, which were examined at a hospital.
InTouch also revealed that, according to the police report, Kim had several scrapes on her face and blood in her mouth when she arrived at the hospital. She was also wearing a cervical collar.
The Welcome to Plathville star said she had had “two 12-ounce margaritas” and that she had left Cairo, Georgia. She was heading to see a friend, who lives south of Tallahassee, Florida. A blood sample was taken and sent to toxicology. In the meantime, the TLC star was charged with careless driving.
Her blood test results came back in September. According to the police report, “The results of the blood test for Ms. Plath was a .161 and .162 BAC [blood alcohol content.]”
At that point, a warrant was issued for her arrest, which was served on Thursday, October 20. Kim Plath landed in jail after turning herself in. Later on Thursday, she was released on bond. She was charged with a DUI with property damage and personal injury.
