While Moriah spent most of Season 6 talking about her heartbreak and the songs that came from it, her ex reentered her life at the end of the season. Without a doubt, Moriah Plath and Matthew Craven’s story would be dynamite for Welcome To Plathville. Screen Rant says, “Matthew could endeavor to clear his name or make matters worse with how he explains himself.” If Matt is the “good guy” he claims he is he could set the record straight. If he was only a friend to Moriah during her darkest hour, then the show would shed some light on the relationship. Or if he is the “Devil In A Suit And Tie” that the Plaths have come to believe after Moriah’s song’s depiction, it would show too. Although he may be the root of the pain in Moriah’s music, Matt appreciates her style. He thinks she is unique and they both are working to break out in the music industry.

On Reddit, a user claims that Matt has a defamation case out for improper use by TLC. The user alleges, “He is pursuing a defamation case against the show, Ethan, Micah, Veronica, and Kim over what they said about him. He says the producers told him they would edit out information about him, but they never did.”
