The couple has earlier said that adjusting to two young children taught them the actual meaning of the term “all hands on deck.”
As the new year commenced in January 2025, Jed and Katey welcomed twin daughters Elsie Kate and Emma Kate. This marked a major milestone as Jed’s first experience of parenting twins. The new parents have shared that everything feels double the effort, from feedings to sleepless nights. On Jinger and Jeremy’s podcast, Jed and Katey framed this phase as “insane” but called it “a season full of blessings and chaos.”

During the chat, Katey said the couple has been “praying about” whether to have more children or not.
At last, they got their answers. Jed and Katey Duggar revealed they’re taking an intentional break from expanding their family. They decided to hit pause to embrace the moment fully and focus entirely on raising the four they already have. Then, they emphasized the importance of being present, especially during this intense parenting season. The couple also said that “all hands on deck” felt nonstop.
Jed added that slowing down was a conscious choice. They are doing so to enjoy what they’ve been blessed with instead of racing to add more. The duo clarified that this isn’t a sign of stopping permanently, but a “sabbatical” to catch their breath and connect with their current children. Hence, Jed and Katey remain open to expanding their family later, but for now, they want to savor the journey.
