‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers suggest that the show’s decision to kill off Kristina Corinthos-Davis‘s (Kate Mansi) baby girl before she was born was a shocking decision.

When Kristina went to confront Ava Jerome (Maura West) in her hotel suite, the last thing she expected was that it would lead to her baby’s demise.

Kristina fell five floors down from the window of Ava’s room and landed in the Metro Court pool. She was taken to GH, and as of Friday’s cliffhanger, she and the baby’s life hung in the balance.

On August 5th, Kristina regained consciousness, but when she woke up, she found out from the doctor that her baby didn’t make it.

Kristina immediately wanted to see her sister, Molly Lansing-Davis (Kristen Vaganos). When she told her that their little girl had died, Mansi and Vaganos brought the drama. The acting was tremendous and believable, as Kristina and Molly’s devastation was palpable.

Kristina and Molly cried, and it was a heartbreaking moment for the two sisters and the viewers. It seemed cruel for both young women to lose the baby they were so invested in.

Molly’s first surrogate, Andrea Gates (Lily Anne Harrison), miscarried, and she didn’t want to try again, so Molly and T.J. Ashford (Tajh Bellow) were forced to go another route.

Kristina wasn’t their first choice, but eventually, the couple accepted Kristina’s generous offer. Kristina almost carried the baby to term, but just as she was at the home stretch, she lost the child she was carrying for her sister.

We didn’t expect Kristina to lose that baby, and we especially didn’t expect anything like that to transpire today. Perhaps the writers are listening to fans complaining that GH likes to drag out storylines.

‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: The Death Of Baby Liam Happened Around Christmas

Kristina’s swan dive out the window seemed more like the perfect opportunity to emphasize Ava’s role as the villain, not to kill Kristina’s baby. The show seems to want to make Ava unredeemable, and if Sonny Corinthos’s botched bipolar medicine didn’t do it, this incident would.

We all know Ava didn’t push her, but she did reach out to grab her after Kristina threatened to tell the truth about Ava’s true character at Sonny and Ava’s upcoming custody hearing.

While the circumstances were different, Sasha Corbin (Sofia Matsson) and Brando Corbin (Johnny Wactor) lost their son, baby Liam, who died at GH after he was born, and it had a similar impact.

The death of baby Liam was unexpected because it was around Christmas.  However, this is generally a time when soaps portray family gatherings, not the death of a baby. Sasha and Brando were also a fun, lighthearted couple up until that point.

‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Now Kristina’s Life Hangs In The Balance

Much like today’s gut-wrenching scenes between Kate Mansi and Kristen Vaganos. Sofia Matsson and Johnny Wactor were stellar, playing two parents who made the impossible decision to take their son off life support.  Their baby would have spent his life hooked up to those tubes.

At the end of today’s episode, viewers were left wondering if Kristina would meet the same fate as her baby. While the EKG machine was beeping frantically. Kristina’s mother, Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn), ran off to grab the doctor.

The death of a child is always brutal. The deaths of Kristina’s baby girl and little Liam were both grim and anguishing to watch.
